| My reports are not printing correctly. How do I print more than just the first record? |
| |
When the print dialog appears, make sure you change the selection in the upper left from "current record" to "records being browsed". This will ensure all the records in the report are printed. |
| I downloaded the demo, but now I can't log in. What is the user name and password? |
| |
To log in to the demo, use the username Admin and leave the password blank. |
| I just purchased gMouse online or with a PO. Now what do I do? |
| |
You can start using gMouse right away. Just follow these steps:
- Download the demo software.
- Start the software and log in.
- Go to the Admin tab of the Home layout.
- Copy and paste the Installation ID into this form along with information that will link you to the purchase.
- We will send you an Activation Code via email.
Note that the software will not be sent to you on CD unless specifically requested (additional charges apply). You do not have to wait for the Activation Code to begin using the software. |
| If I start entering data into the demo version, can I keep the data if I buy the full version? |
| |
Yes, the demo version you are using can be converted directly into the full version just by entering an activation code. We give you this activation code after the software has been purchased. |
| Does gMouse run on a Mac? |
| |
Yes, gMouse runs on a Mac, but OS X is required. |
| What is the difference between the standalone and networked versions? Which should I get? |
| |
The primary difference between the standalone and the networked version is that the standalone does not require FileMaker 7 to run. The only situation where you would want the standalone version is if you do not have FileMaker 7. The networked version has a number of advantages including easier customization and the ability to use external modules. Therefore, we recommend the "networked" version even if you never plan to network gMouse. |
| How many computers can I install my copy of gMouse on? |
| |
The activation code you are given will limit the installation of the actual database to one computer. However, you can share this data and access it remotely over a network on multiple computers even though the software is only installed on one computer. Networking requires the networked version and a copy of FileMaker 7 on each remote computer. |
| Can I keep experimental results in gMouse? |
| |
gMouse can be used directly to store mouse "events" and has the built-in capability to store results from PCR genotyping. Storing more specialized experimental results is handled by external modules. These modules can be designed to store exactly the data that is pertinent to your lab. See the modules page for more information. |
| Will gMouse run on a server? |
