CircuSoft OPediT pedigree drawing software is a simple but elegant tool for generating graphical representations of complex breeding pedigrees. OPediT is an ideal companion to CircuSoft gMouse, allowing you to generate graphical pedigrees of almost any size from your transgenic mouse colony data.
The OPediT pedigree drawing system is comprised of two parts, a graphical front end for manipulating data and a connection to special graph-drawing software running on our server. Since OPediT utilizes the GraphViz graph drawing library developed by AT&T Research. The graph drawing libraries run on our Linux server, so you must have a connection to the Internet to use the software. The front end is a Java Web Start application that loads locally on your computer. The front end allows you to load and edit pedigree data and to export the graphs or raw data in common formats.
OPediT is an excellent companion to CircuSoft gMouse mouse colony software as the pedigree drawing capabilities of OPediT pick up where the built-in capabilities of gMouse leave off. OPediT can read in colony data directly exported from gMouse using a simple FileMaker export adapter. OPediT will then help you check for errors, edit your data, and generate pedigrees charts for all or part of your colony. All gMouse users get a complimentary one-year license to OPediT.
