Overview of OPediT
OPediT [Online PEDIgree Tool] is a Java-based software package that allows you to generate complex pedigree charts. OPediT is designed specifically for use with breeding colonies of laboratory animals, but is generic enough to be used in a number of other applications. OPediT can read in and edit pedigree data files in pre-makeped linkage format or in our gMouse export format. With the click of a button, the data is then sent to our server for conversion into a graphical pedigree chart. The resulting graphic can be saved as a GIF image, encapsulated PostScript, or Adobe PDF document.

Colony Metrics
In its ongoing evolution, OPediT now also calculates and displays a collection of colony metrics based on the input data set. This gives you a quick, graphical
overview of the distribution of genders, strains, lines, and genotypes of the animals in your colony. The screenshot below shows a sample display.
Beta Cycle
CircuSoft OPediT is currently in a beta cycle and is undergoing rapid development. We invite you to participate by trying out the software while still in beta free of charge. If you have comments or suggestions, we would love to hear them.
