A Personal Note of ThanksI want to take a moment to thank all of you for the tremendous success of CircuSoft gMouse 2. As a founder of CircuSoft and the manager of the gMouse product, I have been very pleased to watch as our software has been adopted by thousands of researchers across the US and abroad. For the last two years I have had the privilege of working with many of you to improve gMouse and discuss future features and directions. It is my pleasure today to annonce the last update of CircuSoft gMouse 2 and the initial release of CircuSoft gMouse 3. CircuSoft gMouse 2.9Since the new features of gMouse 3 required a significant change to the underlying data file, version 2.9 will be the final release of CircuSoft gMouse 2. Version 2.9 is an effort to provide as many of the features of gMouse 3 to those users not ready to upgrade. The major improvement available in version 2.9 is in auto-numbering. The improved auto-numbering features give you complete control over numbering, allowing you to start and reset numbers at any value. For even more control, the custom numbering function is easily editable to allow advanced numbering schemes. In addition, full editing access has been granted to all the major gMouse layouts. This allows you to use FileMaker 7 or later to customize gMouse as much a you want. CircuSoft gMouse 3CircuSoft gMouse 3 introduces two key new features: unlimited screening labels and plug tracking. As more of you began using mice with floxed alleles, having only 4 possible screening outcomes in gMouse became limiting. The new PCR module allows you to define and unlimited number of possible outcomes for screening experiments. CircuSoft gMouse 3 also allows you to keep accurate track of plug dates in breeding records and for individual mice. Registered users of gMouse can access both gMouse 3 or the gMouse 2.9 update free of charge. However, gMouse 3 is not available as an update to gMouse 2 since the data structure has changed. If you have gMouse 2 and want to move to gMouse 3, you can either download a fresh copy of gMouse 3 or have your data custom imported to gMouse 3 by us for a flat fee of $200. New users: Click the "Demo Download" image to try the latest gMouse version. Existing users: Click the Check for Updates button on the Admin layout of your gMouse version or click here to update. |
